Erik Belz

Erik is the President & Chief Investment Officer of JDH Capital, where he is responsible for leading the firm’s overall strategy, execution, and Investment Committee.

Prior to joining JDH Capital, Erik served as President & Chief Operating Officer of Engine No. 1, a multi-strategy private investment firm focused on public and private markets. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Blackstone, where he led the natural resources focus within the firm’s Private Equity group. Earlier in his career, Erik held investment roles at First Reserve, one of the original sector specialist private equity funds investing in the natural resources industry, and at Blue Water Energy, an international natural resources private equity firm based in London. He began his career at Lehman Brothers in New York, in the natural resources M&A group.

Erik received an A.B. in Economics and Government, graduating cum laude, from Harvard College.
